HAVE QUESTIONS?

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

WHY IS VASODILATION SO IMPORTANT TO THE VIBNAVA PROCESS?

Vasodilation, the widening of blood vessels, is a crucial physiological process with significant implications for overall health and bodily function. Here are several reasons why vasodilation is important:

1. **Regulation of Blood Pressure**:
– **Lowering Blood Pressure**: Vasodilation reduces vascular resistance, which helps lower blood pressure. This is particularly important for individuals with hypertension (high blood pressure), as it reduces the strain on the heart and decreases the risk of cardiovascular diseases.
– **Homeostasis**: It helps maintain blood pressure within a normal range, ensuring that organs and tissues receive an adequate supply of blood.

2. **Improved Blood Flow**:
– **Enhanced Oxygen and Nutrient Delivery**: By widening the blood vessels, vasodilation increases blood flow to various parts of the body, ensuring that tissues receive sufficient oxygen and nutrients.
– **Waste Removal**: It also facilitates the removal of metabolic waste products from tissues, which is essential for maintaining cellular health and function.

3. **Thermoregulation**:
– **Heat Dissipation**: Vasodilation plays a key role in regulating body temperature. When the body is overheated, blood vessels near the skin surface dilate, allowing more blood to flow through them and dissipate heat, thereby cooling the body.
– **Response to Cold**: Conversely, vasoconstriction (the narrowing of blood vessels) helps retain heat in cold environments, demonstrating the body’s ability to regulate temperature through vascular adjustments.

4. **Exercise and Physical Activity**:
– **Increased Muscle Perfusion**: During physical activity, vasodilation increases blood flow to the muscles, providing them with the necessary oxygen and nutrients to sustain performance and endurance.
– **Enhanced Recovery**: Post-exercise, improved blood flow aids in the removal of lactic acid and other metabolic byproducts, facilitating quicker recovery.

5. **Cardiovascular Health**:
– **Reduced Workload on the Heart**: By decreasing vascular resistance, vasodilation reduces the workload on the heart, which can help prevent heart-related conditions such as heart failure and coronary artery disease.
– **Prevention of Atherosclerosis**: Healthy vasodilation can help prevent the buildup of plaque in the arteries, reducing the risk of atherosclerosis and related complications.

6. **Response to Injury and Inflammation**:
– **Healing Process**: Vasodilation is part of the body’s inflammatory response to injury. Increased blood flow to the affected area brings immune cells, nutrients, and other factors necessary for healing and repair.
– **Pain and Swelling**: While vasodilation can contribute to swelling and redness during inflammation, it is a critical component of the body’s defense and repair mechanisms.

7. **Sexual Function**:
– **Erectile Function**: In males, vasodilation is essential for achieving and maintaining an erection, as it increases blood flow to the penile tissues.
– **Female Sexual Arousal**: In females, vasodilation enhances blood flow to the genital area, contributing to sexual arousal and lubrication.

8. **Pharmacological Implications**:
– **Medication Effects**: Many medications, such as antihypertensives and vasodilators, rely on the mechanism of vasodilation to achieve their therapeutic effects. Understanding vasodilation is crucial for the development and use of these drugs.

In summary, vasodilation is vital for maintaining cardiovascular health, regulating body temperature, enhancing physical performance, supporting healing processes, and ensuring overall physiological balance. Its importance spans various aspects of health and well-being, making it a fundamental process in human biology.

In the context of VIBNAVA, Vasodilation provides oxygen to the brain for better mental clarity, and supplies organs with more oxygen in order to do their job. This helps to get into the mental state of flow much quicker which facilitates the mind body alignment we are looking for.

HOW DOES THAT VIBNAVA CREATE VASODILATION AS OPPOSED TO TRADITIONAL CARDIOVASCULAR EXERCISE?

Certain low frequencies create a condition within the blood vessels called sheer which simulates increased blood flow due to rapid expansion and contraction of muscles. This shear stimulates the endothelial lining of the blood vessels which then releases nitric oxide, a signal to expand the blood vessels and allow the higher blood flow. It is essential that the client be in a relaxed state driven by the ventral vagal parasympathetic nerve system. Vagal conditioning is essential to put the client in the right state to achieve the proper vasodilation. It is especially important for clients with PTSD to utilize the vagal conditioning and minimize the risk of flight or flight response.

WHAT IS RIGHT BRAIN HEAVY COGNITIVE WORKLOAD AND WHY IS IT IMPORTANT?

Roughly speaking, the right hemisphere of our brains is predominantly responsible for the more creative thinking, reacting with the body and intuition. What we have found at Miranda is that this lead To a state of immediate focus and attention. This can be found with practitioners of intensive meditation, extreme sports, where participants don’t have the time to think analytically, and what peak performance artists call “the mental state of flow”. We try to stay away from the term “don’t think, just do” because we believe that it’s a misnomer for several reasons— one is that we are still thinking, just not analytically and two.. we all experience that ironic situation where when somebody says don’t do this your brain automatically makes you do it.
So, we will load up the right brain and minimize any stimulation of the left “ analytical” brain.

This means no vocals or language, no math, no planning and no thinking about what you’re going to be doing after your session. What we do do is load up on things that cause right brain processing. The bimodal application of sound and vibration, differences in frequencies between the left and right ears, otherwise known as binaural sounds, the rhythm, chords and artistic application of these elements, Anse, harmony, spatial movements of specific sounds within a static sound set, are all things that the brain has to process none analytically. It has to absorb it real time and to use computer speak, “it chews up all the bandwidth so you aren’t using your analytical, slow processors”. The only way this can happen is in that mental state of flow that is so elusive and magical at the same time.
In today’s age of soundbites and highly distracted Routines, it is an incredibly healthy and performance and enhancing exercise to do at least daily. Practicing the VIBNAVA methods can help get you there quicker and last longer.

HOW DOES KURANDA KNOW THAT YOUR TOOLS AND METHODS ARE WORKING?

First of all, we partnered with a mental health organization in Kearney, Nebraska. We built a clinic specifically designed for neuromodulation, using Vibro- acoustics, Vagal stimulation and sound specifically in the form of music. This included a number of novel sound delivery systems that were designed specifically to exercises much brain processing capacity as possible.  Before we ever started to market our products and techniques, we spent over a year and a half in discovery, understanding what worked and what didn’t work. We looked at biological indicators like heart rate, heart rate variability, sleep, level of attention and focus, and we used seasoned therapists to discern whether the clients were benefiting from a mental response and clarity standpoint. Our subjects ranged from kids who had experienced trauma and had gone selectively mute to kids who were having anger problems due to abuse, to adults with ADHD, autism and schizophrenic disorders. We also included in different locations, the input from ultra runners and special forces operators with long histories of trauma and elderly adults with chronic back pain and patients with anxiety due to multiple brain surgeries and cancer.. during that time we spent thousands of hours doing exhaustive research into the tidal wave of data coming out of universities due to the the use of modern tools like real time MRI and EEG to see what happens in your brain due to different stimuli.

On the peak performance side, we formed a  band called the musicologists. They wore  brainwave monitors, and they tried out  different things in our retreats and shows to discern how to get into the mental state of flow quicker, last longer and what to stay away from., We simply wanted to know what worked and what was marginal.. we have since utilized brainwave monitors and many other biological markers to try and make sense of what was common to all these physiological responses and how to present them in a way that has the most efficacy for as many people as we can help. Our mission was to provide methods and tools to reduce use of drugs and their side effects , and provide relief to people that was non-invasive and practical. With the help of these new measurement tools and the prior research over the last 10 years we feel we have a good start,   But there is more to learn. we will all work together within the in the coming years with our community of practitioners who utilize our tools and techniques to build a community database. We will act on that information to leverage our growing knowledge as quickly and effectively as possible.
